  • Today is going by really slow, with little productivity on my part. Notice how I'm on this thing, instead of doing something more constructive.
We got snow yesterday here in North Carolinaland. It was so beautiful! And still is, as we got like 3 inches I think, maybe more. It's stuck around due to cold temps. I have little to talk about since everything is much the same. So I will leave you with pictures : )

S will just randomly fall backward, and cry like
she doesn't know how to roll over. I actually do think
    she's forgotten, lol.

Playing outdoors on a very cold day. Cabin fever makes you feel
    desperate.

  • Scarlett's foot and my motivation

I often let Avril go out on the deck in the back of our house to get some sun, if we can't play out front. Yesterday I walked S out there and sat her down for a bit. When I brought her back in, she was very fussy, and I didn't understand why.  Later that day, while changing her diaper I noticed that she wouldn't let her left foot touch the ground.  I didn't think much of it, until a bit later I noticed something on the bottom of her foot. A sticker or something.  Well, I promptly picked at it in attempt to get it off.  Ya, she freaked! That was when I realized it wasn't' a sticker, but a  large splinter in my babies foot.  So, I sanitized tweezers and lay her on the bed to try and rid her of her ailment. Fail!  I ended up making the whole situation more traumatic, with S freaking out every time I just looked at her foot, and Avril in sympathy, crying big alligator tears begging me to stop.  So, I asked if G could come home early, and fix this poor child's foot. He did, very speedily, while I stood by her head for comfort. G  then went back to work.  The problem is that Scarlett would not let me hold her for forever after the whole ordeal. She is a complete daddy's girl now. Which is so cute, except for the fact that if he and I are home at the same time, she prefers him now : (  Sad day. G just said, "well now you know what it was like for me".

Avril absolutely loves working out.  She is my biggest motivation. She's always saying, "Mommy, it's time to workout", Mommy, exercise?" And she gets my shoes. Last night G and I started the P90X workout series, and Avril did some with us.  So while she's doing the warm up squats with us, she looks at both of us and says, "it's gonna be a good day".  She always says that at the beginning of anything. A workout, before G goes to work, playtime. I think G says it a lot and that's where she got it. That's what I need to tell myself everyday before it starts. It's gonna be a good day :)

  • Easiest homemade pizza ever!

                             Crazy Crust Pizza Dough
                                  (Courtesy of allrecipes.com

    Ingredients:                                      1/8 tsp black pepper
    1cup all-purpose flour                     2eggs
    1tsp salt                                           2/3 cup milk
    1tsp dried oregano

    Directions:
    1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly grease a rimmed pizza pan or baking sheet.
    2.  In a large bowl, stir together flour, salt, oregano and black pepper.  Mix in eggs and milk; stir well. Pour batter into prepared pan and tilt until evenly coated. (This is wear I change it):  The recipes online tells you to then arrange toppings of choice in top of batter and then place in oven for 20-25mins.  I don't.  I put the dough in the oven without toppings and let it get nice and brown. About 15 mins. It turns out better that way, trust me ;)
    3. Then you place your toppings, whatever your pleasure, it's up to you.  We personally like lots of cheese, mozerella, cheddar and parm, red and green peppers, jalepenos and  pineapple.
    4. Place back in the oven for about 10 minutes to get the cheese all nice and meltly, maybe a little crispy.  Sometimes we turn the broil on to speed things up a bit.

And walla!  A really fast, easy meal that's nutritious and delicious!!!  And if you are a pizza obsessed family like us Chaneys you will make this recipe probably more than you would like to admit ;)

    Tips
*We double the recipe for one pizza, cause we like our pizza crust a bit on the thick side. But of course you don't have to do that.

    *
Sometimes if I am in the mood for a sweeter crust, I ad about a tablespoon of honey. It makes it taste oh so good!

    * After you grease your pan,  coat it with corn meal, it makes it easier for the pizza to come out, and also gives a nice texture to your crust.
